Mission Musings

We're Getting Close to our trip to Haiti!

What a flurry of activity it has been these past weeks. We are only a month and a half away from our trip to Dame Marie, Haiti and our supporters continue to supply us with what we need to conduct the Diabetic Clinic and to share the Gospel. (At this point there are ten of us that have purchased flight tickets.) Donations of sturdy new packing boxes, used suitcases, diabetic supplies, balls and games for children, sneakers and shoes, and funds to purchase goats, continue to come in. Our latest effort is to sew 100 or more washable, personal hygiene kits for girls. We learned of an organization online at www.daysforgirls.org that gives step by step instructions to help create these much needed kits. Check it out. What a blessing! Shirl Hughes, one of our long time supporters, is the Chairperson for this effort and many have agreed to work with her in creating the kits. Can't sew? We are collecting washcloths, dark color girl's briefs ( size 10-14), yards of 100% cotton ( Quilter's Cotton) fabric in darker floral patterns and polyurethane laminate fabric in darker colors as well. We also hope to take a solar powered Luci Light for each of the 100 ladies that we expect to attend the Ladies' Tea to be held that Tuesday June 14th as we celebrate Jesus, The True Light of the World! Each light costs $11.99. Prayerfully, consider sponsoring one. A great big THANK YOU goes out to each person who donated to this cause. We are looking forward to sharing with you how God blessed your generosity. So excited! So grateful. God bless. (I will post when we host a work day to sew and complete the kits.) Any questions, please contact us.
